My interest in Information Technology started in 1987 with the (then) Water
Corporation when I was selected as one of a final 40 employees, from a pool of 250
applicants to undertake an intensive equivalent of an Information Technology
In 1990 I was promoted to the position of Production Support Supervisor with the WA Police Service.
Overseeing change management, quality assurance and application program environment functionality
compliance in respect to the department's Amdahl Mainframe platform.
Nine years later, I took a break from Information Technology and worked as a Real Estate representative, but an
opportunity to dive back into I.T. was too hard to resist, and I took up the position as Business Internet Customer
Consultant, coordinating the provisioning of Telstra's static I.P. internet suite of products.
In 2002, I was asked by Telstra Management to head up a team to geographically relocate, process improve and
provision enhance what was a flagging 256 SSL based Ecommerce / Payment Gateway product.
Upon successful completion, I took up the position as a Mainframe small systems programmer, followed by 6 months as a Computer Operator, finally leading to the position of Application Support Officer.
My wife and I have always loved the Great Southern Region (of Western Australia) and a successful application to become the Shire of Plantagenet's Rates/Finance Officer allowed us to relocate to the area in 2006.
Working as a Shire of Plantagenet employee, was a fantastically rewarding and challenging experience, with the opportunity to play a pivotal role in the Shire's migration to "whole of government" integrated Information Management System (IMS) software.
I thought (incorrectly) that our realisation of "living our dream" in the Great Southern Region, with access to a
wonderful marine environment to pursue our love of fishing and a cooler, more relaxed life style, would have
quelled my technical curiosity and activity. It did not.
My other dream has always been to run my own business in a way and that I wanted things done and being able
to provide a service delivery level that met my goals and passions.
Finally, in November 2011, I started my own business, wanting to share my I.T. knowledge, assist those that
required it, and make a living in my two passions, technology and customer service.
In August 2012, I finally decided that the number of Clients I was attracting warranted (and indeed made
necessary) a move to what is now a realisation of a dream, Website Designs and Computing Solutions!
